I did not realise portions of my backups were corrupt until I performed a restore of my data. By this time, I had formated my drive, installed XP, my virus scanner and firewall. I was in a fix. I tried several demo recovery programs; they found the the deleted files alright, but after recovering them I would have to rename them... There were hundreds of files. Plus I would have to recreate the directory structure. It's a little difficult to guess the file names that the video editing program gave to all those avi files, not to mention mp3s, jpegs, etc. Restorer2000 does not take days to scan your hard drive. Restorer2000 not only displayed the full name, it recreated most of the folder structure as well. Over 95% of the files recovered were not corrupted. The video files I viewed were good. However, there were a few text and Word files that were scrambled. I consider myself lucky! This program rocks!!! |
